Before adopting a bird from Guardian Angels Bird Sanctuary, please make sure to read and understand our terms and conditions.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF GABS GUARDIANSHIP
Please read carefully. You must agree to all the terms and conditions below. These rules have been set out to ensure the safety and wellbeing of every bird given in to GABS' care.
- You must be a fully paid up member of GABS for the entire time you have a GABS bird(s) in your care.
- Membership to GABS is £10 per year. You will be sent a reminder two weeks before your membership renewal date, either by e-mail or post.
- Failure to renew your membership will result in the bird(s) being returned to GABS.
- GABS will remain the legal owners of the bird. This means if you are unable to carry on caring for the bird it must be returned to GABS until a new Guardian can be found. You are not allowed to sell the bird or give it away.
- All birds will be microchipped and given a basic health check. The microchip is to safeguard the bird and ensure that it is not handed on to someone else or sold. A small fee of £25 per bird will be required to cover this. Additionally, travel expenses will need to be covered in transporting the bird to you. The amount will vary depending on distance travelled.
- A home check will be done prior to any birds being released into your care, either before or when the Re-homing Officer calls with the bird. If the environment is not deemed suitable for the bird to be left, the Re-homing Officer will take the bird away until any problems have been addressed. (Please remember that this is in no way meant to cause offence but GABS' priority is to ensure that any new home is going to be the best possible and where the bird will be safe and well looked after for many years to come).
- No GABS birds must be used for breeding purposes.
