The only "Roll the Ball" World Championship took place in August 2022 and was won by Adam Raeford 2-1 in the final against Martin Musgrave. It was a best of 5 game final but remarkably 2 games ended up as draws.
Roll the Ball Game and Rankings Explained
Rules of the exciting and addictive game of Roll the Ball
- Each game you play costs £1 for 10 balls (ping pong balls)
- The Roll the Ball table is set on a downward slope and you stand at the top end and roll each ball down to the scoring end.
- The scoring end of the table has 9 numbered chutes from 1 to 9 (randomly placed, not in order)
- We then add your totals together. For example if all 10 balls go down the chute numbered 5, then that's a total of 50 points.
- If you achieve one of the best 3 scores of the day, you get one of the 3 prizes on offer.
- The winner gets the choice of the 3 prizes, the runner-up will get the choice of the other 2 prizes and 3rd place gets the last one.
Remember, at our Sunday fund raiser at Greasley Sports & Community Centre is a "Roll the Ball" ranking tournament and it is the last one until Spring, so come down and have a go and hopefully shoot up our list. So, who will be the Christmas number 1? Also, there are some cracking prizes for the top 3 scores of the day as you can see below. A giant teddy, a bottle of champagne and a big gift box of Baylis & Harding smellies. Unfortunately, before this tournament we've got some points to come off for a few of you, earned at the Eastwood Christmas Lights in 2022 because it's a 2 year rolling ranking list. These include current number 1 John Humphreys, number 3 Ann Green, number 5 Phil Gregory and number 8 Jack Till. The players and the amounts losing points this week are:-

Sorry it's so late but here are the results from the Eastwood Christmas Lights Roll the Ball competition.It was another race for the number 1 spot and first up was Phil Gregory, the former number 1 and current number 5. His score of 64 put a marker down for the rest to beat. Then number 4 Cheryl Henshaw scored 68 to throw hat into the ring for fist place. Then came world number 2 John Humphreys whose 65 put him into 2nd place. He also had the 13th, 17th and 20th best scores of the day. So, he was up to number 1 in the rankings unless Courtney Henshaw finished at least 2nd. However, she couldn't manage a score in the top 20 so slips down to number 2 after one month at number 1. The story of the night was Donna Cooper, who achieved a great score of 71 and walked away with the gingerbread house for the second time in twelve years and is the highest new entry at 30.Here are the latest rankings with previous positions in brackets:-
